💡 Key Features
1

2
Utilizes microcomputer control technology and features dual-channel simultaneous testing for parallel testing of two samples.
3
LCD touch screen with both Chinese and English control interfaces.

Structure and Principle

Adjust the water temperature in the constant-temperature water bath according to the test temperature requirements. Place a certain amount of asphalt sample into the sample tube. Remove the cork at the bottom of the sample tube and simultaneously press the timer switch to allow the sample to flow into the receiving bottle. The timer stops when the sample reaches the 60ml mark on the receiving bottle.

🛠️ Setup Instructions
• Power supply must have an overload fuse and proper grounding.
• Fill bath with water or oil (avoid overflow).
• Secure thermometer in the thermostat.
• Read manual carefully before performing any tests.

Instrument Calibration

The Asphalt Saybolt viscometer should be recalibrated no more than three years after use. The calibration procedure includes:

  • Verify viscosity measured by a Saybolt gravimetric viscometer at 50°C.
  • If the outflow time of standard viscosity oil (at least 90s) differs by more than 0.2% from the manual, use a calibration factor for correction.
  • Note: If the error exceeds 1%, the instrument should not be used.

Maintenance and Repair

Routine Care

Clean the sample tube thoroughly after each test. If not used for a long time, keep it in a clean water bath to prevent corrosion and use a dust cover.

⚠️Safety Alert

When switching from water to thermal oil, drain all water from the inner tank to prevent boiling and overflow.

🔍Troubleshooting

Heating issues may be caused by poor electrical connection, blown fuses, or poor switch contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does the viscometer need calibration?
It should be recalibrated at least every three years or if measurement errors are suspected.
Can I test two samples at the same time?
Yes, the instrument features dual-channel simultaneous testing, allowing for parallel testing and automatic calculation of the arithmetic mean.
What should I do before switching to thermal oil heating?
You must completely drain all water from the inner tank to prevent the water from boiling and causing the oil to overflow.
What is the temperature control accuracy of this device?
The bath temperature control accuracy is highly precise at ±0.1°C.
What is the required sample volume for a standard test?
The test is complete and the timer should be stopped when the sample reaches the 60ml mark in the receiving bottle.
How should the instrument be stored if not used for a long period?
It should be stored in a dry, ventilated room with a dust cover installed. Keeping it in a clean water bath can also help prevent corrosion.
