Product Description

1

Product Description

This Fraass breaking point tester is composed of a brittle point tester and a low-temperature water bath. The brittle point tester is the main testing component, while the low-temperature water bath serves as the essential refrigeration equipment for cooling purposes.

The freezing room of the brittle point tester maintains a cooling rate of 1°C per minute. Equipped with an electric bending mechanism, the instrument loads the specimen automatically, ensuring the specimen is bent precisely once every minute.

The Asphalt Breaking Point Test operation panel features an LCD display, CANCODE, function switches, and a built-in printer. This design allows operators to manipulate the test easily and observe specimen results intuitively.

Working Principle

A layer of asphalt film is applied to a metal sheet of specific dimensions and placed into an insulation cylinder equipped with a cooling device. A handle is used to bend the metal sheet. As the temperature decreases, the asphalt film's temperature drops accordingly. When it reaches the point where the asphalt film breaks under the specified bending conditions, that temperature—indicated by the thermometer—is recorded as the brittle point of the asphalt.

Instrument Features

The automatic asphalt brittle point tester utilizes a liquid crystal display and a user-friendly interface. Controlled by a single-chip microcomputer, the entire experimental process is automated, eliminating the need for manual supervision. It automatically detects parameter changes, obtains results, and includes a self-diagnosis function with operational prompts. It also features a built-in printer and an RS-232 output interface for data management.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the primary purpose of the Fraass Breaking Point Tester?
A: It is used to determine the brittle point of asphalt by cooling an asphalt-coated metal sheet and bending it at regular intervals until the film breaks.
Q: Does the instrument require constant manual monitoring?
A: No, the tester is automatically controlled by a single-chip microcomputer, allowing the experimental process to run without manual supervision.
Q: How many samples can be tested at once?
A: The instrument is designed to test 3 asphalt samples simultaneously, increasing testing efficiency.
Q: What is the standard cooling rate for this test?
A: The standard cooling rate is maintained at (1±0.5)℃ per minute via the low-temperature circulation bath.
Q: How are the test results presented?
A: Results are shown intuitively on the LCD display and can be printed immediately using the built-in printer or exported via the RS-232 interface.
Q: What are the power requirements for the full setup?
A: The system operates on AC 220V/50Hz, with a total power consumption of approximately 2050W for both the tester and the cooling bath.
